Members of the public who live nearby in Nightingale Rise and Badger Rise have expressed their frustration at the police officers blocking the road.

Police officers have been parking on the left hand side of the road and sometimes it is just a line of cars that block road and many that live nearby have said that it frustrates them that the roads are blocked and they have stop to drive past.

Occasionally it has been reported that the barricade of police cars has caused situations in which nearby residents get in each other’s way due to them coming in different directions. “It’s completely ridiculous’ one spokesman said, “its frustrating because the police are essential breaking their own rules and blocking the road and many people are in a rush to get home”.

There has been no statement from anyone inside the police headquarters as of yet and the consensus is that there are no enough parking spaces inside the police headquarters leading to calls from the public to build more parking spaces inside the station.

Story Preview 2: Film crews spotted at Clevedon School

Film crews have been spotted coming in and out of Clevedon School and many eyewitnesses claim that Broadchurch stars David Tennant and Olivia Coleman have also been sighted with the film crews.

This is unsurprising, as previous series have predominately been filmed in Somerset, specifically Clevedon.

The BBC confirmed that a third series of Broadchurch would be returning in 2017 with filming beginning in the summer, so it was only a matter of time when the BBC crews would be spotted in Clevedon.

The amount of scenes that will feature Clevedon School remains to be seen and we will have to wait until 2017 for answers.

Story Preview 3: New Housing Estate being built nearby Gordano School

It appears that a new housing estate is being built in Portishead nearby Gordano School according to eye-witness reports from Portishead residents and Gordano students.

The new estate will have 10 brand new houses in the area between Gordano School and the Albion pub on Bristol and Clevedon Road.

Many have noted this as a peculiar area for a housing estate as during the week between 9:00 am and 3:15pm it will be very busy due to students coming in and out of school.

Whether these suspicions have any merit will have to wait for the time being until the new housing estate is built.

Short Story 1; Sports Review:

In football, Bristol City lost to Brighton, their second loss in the past three games. Brighton took the lead in the 13th minute when Steve Sidwell dispossessed Korey Smith and expertly chipped the the keeper from an extraordinary 50 yards. Brighton would score again 7 minutes later through a deflected Jamie Murphy strike and confine City to a defeat. City’s performance was very flat and they created few chances in the second half, a continuation of their poor performances since the international break.

City were not helped by the performance of high-flying Brighton, who are unbeaten in their last 10 games, and City manager Lee Johnson admitted that Brighton played his side off the park but admitted that he was frustrated with Brighton’s first goal, saying that keeper Richard O’Donnell was too far off his line.

The result leaves the Robins outside the play-off positions for the first time this season and their fans will have to hope for a better performance in their next game against Birmingham City.
Elsewhere, league games were off for teams in the lower divisions due to the first round of the FA Cup. Bristol Rovers drew with Crawley Town to condone them to a replay. Rovers struck first when Lee Brown scored from a controversial free kick but Crawley levelled in the 35th minute through Billy Clifford. Crawley would later have a man sent off but Rovers failed to break Crawley down in the later stages of the game.

Yeovil and Cheltenham Town also drew with lower league opposition, drawing 2-2 and 1-1 respectively. In Rugby, Bristol were knocked out of the LV cup by Worcester after a 25 -31 loss.
